Midway College awards credit for measurable, verifiable learning acquired through life or work experiences. The learning must be determined to be college-level, having a balance, appropriate to the subject between theory and practical application. Learning may consist of knowledge and/or skills coming from a variety of sources, including work experiences, community service, workshops, and military service.
Prior learning may be demonstrated through several options, including:- CLEP or DANTES exams

About the MBA

Admission Requirements
1. Candidate must have a baccalaureate degree; preferably in Business.
2. Candidate must have a GPA of 3.00 or better on a 4.00 scale.*
3. Candidate must have 3 or more years of professional full-time work experience.
4. Candidate must demonstrate the ability to contribute constructively, creatively, flexibly, and independently to a graduate-level learning community.
*If the Candidate has below a 3.00 GPA, a GMAT score is required. There is no minimum required score.
Associate of Science in Medical Coding
Midway College Online offers an Associate degree in Medical Coding that provides the necessary training to help you start a rewarding career in medical coding. Upon program completion you will qualify to work individually or in a team, in physician's offices, health care facilities, hospitals, nursing homes and other settings.
Medical coders translate clinical information from various medical records into appropriate diagnostic and procedural codes applied to patient records. Specialized coding is used for data retrieval, data analysis and critical claims processing on the premises or outside the office, as well as categorizing patients into specific Diagnosis-Related Groups (DRG).
The online Medical Coding associate online degree program addresses health care information analysis, data delivery systems and terminologies, and classification systems for various diseases. Coursework spans over writing, computer applications, health information management, medical vocabulary, structure and function of the human body, pathological processes, medical coding, billing, law and ethics.
Graduation requirements include 29 credit hours of General Education and 33 credit hours of Medical Coding specialty for a total of 62 credit hours.
